Stefan Winz

Engagement Lead and Master Level Architect

Stefan Winz is a net-centric technologist with extensive experience in building enterprise class websites.

Stefan has served as Master Architect over large scale implementations at Scholastic, Consumers Union and Forbes.com.

Prior to co-founding GRT, Stefan was a VP of Technology at TheStreet.com in charge of developing the content management and newsroom related systems, as well as being the lead architect for the commerce and registration systems. He led three teams of developers through all phases of implementation and deployment for these systems.

In previous work, Stefan was a core developer at Audible.com, a commerce site selling spoken word audio over the Internet. At Audible, he designed and developed e-commerce and multimedia software that supported the audible player and the distribution channels for Audible's audio files.

Earlier in his career, Stefan was an applications developer at Time Warner's Pathfinder, where he developed applications for many of Time Inc's brand name magazines, including Money, Fortune and People. He also worked as a systems integrator and research systems engineer at Electronic Data Systems.

Winz graduated from Seton Hall University with a Bachelor's in Accounting and earned a Master's in Computer Science from the New Jersey Institute of Technology.

 

Jarret Rackoff

Jarret Rackoff retains an impressive reputation as a technical strategist, project manager and implementation leader throughout the technology community.

A member of the company since inception in early 2000, Jarret has served as the primary lead for the majority of GRT's large engagements including Forbes.com CMS/Publishing systems and multiple undertakings at Scholastic, Inc. He continues to exercise his skills in cross-team/business unit relationship and project management, as well as background in architecture and database design.

Prior to undertaking this venture, Jarret served as both Director of Application Development and Interim VP of Technology at BigStar Entertainment, Inc., one of the Internet's first online commerce sites.

Earlier in his career, Jarret worked for Accenture as a Senior Technical Strategy Consultant, and C/Oracle Programmer, providing services to an array of influential clients throughout the US.

Rackoff graduated from the University of Illinois in 1996 with a Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering.

 

Bob Hartlaub

Prior to co-founding Grassroots Technologies, Bob Hartlaub was Director of Commerce Technology for TheStreet.com, where he was responsible for development of the online subscription system, real time credit card processing, and customer service applications.

In previous work, Bob was an application developer at Time Warner's Pathfinder, where he developed applications for Money.com and Fortune.com. Applications included development of the Fortune 500 List, Money's Best Places to Live, and enhancements to the infrastructure and application layers for financial news and realtime quote delivery.

Prior to this, Bob was at Electronic Data Systems for 10 years, where he worked in the Health Care and Benefits Division in a range of positions from Systems Engineer, Business Technology Specialist, and Account Manager.

Hartlaub graduated from the University of Wisconsin at La Crosse with a Bachelors degree in Computer Science and a minor in both Mathematics and Business.
